The top time in the state (perhaps the country) belongs to a freshman. This isn't a new phenomenon when it comes to freshman girls hitting the scene early and making noise. For boys, it usually takes some time.
Don't tell that to Ruel Newberry from Denton Guyer, because he probably won't listen. The soft spoken frosh opens his ears to his coach speaks with his legs. We are listening!
He led the weekend in Texas with a 14:46 personal best at the Marcus Coach T XC Invitational. Hudson Haley (Austin Vandegrift) had the second fastest mark with a 14:48.
